Long time no see D:

Sorry for being too late to post the activities... My computer was broken and I couldn't access to my computer.

In Moscow, It was saying that it's not winter even though temperature was about 1 or 2. Compare to where I was used to live, Japan, IT IS VERY COLD and it's winter. However according to my experience of 2 years Moscow life, it's not. I feel like the time of first snowing getting later and later. When I came here, in October, almost everywhere was almost covered by snow, but now, it's not even covered in early December. I feel global environment is getting serious and serious recently...

Anyways, in past 2 weeks, I did several activities, and I am putting all here.

<Photographyy>

Since it's christmas time so that decoration and view are pretty awesome, I took/ asked to take photos and edited them later!
I love Moscow winter because it's warm inside and cold only outside. Outside view is cool. In spring, or fall, roads are duty, trush everywhere, not good weather... etc. However in winter, it is like almost all what I can see is white, and since I've never lived these areas, I am quite surprised at when I see it as a first time.
This picture is with my best friend, living in a next building where I am living and taken by Shun. He is good at taking photos from his own angle, but I asked him to include the little tree behind us because I wanted to make it my cas work and I though I can use contrast of magniture of me and Momoko and the tree. I think it worked quite well enough to say it's a good picture!

This left picture is inside my apartment, is located in the ground floor. My apartment is used hotel and office as well, therefore in winter there are lots of decoration there.
I think it is good looking but no more than last year. The colour of the decoration varied by a year, for 2012-2013 it's white. (Last year, it was red.)
I tried some effects to make it look beautiful, and finally decided the one brownish. I hope it now looks good!

I believe that I've met several learning outcomes;
Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
Developed new skill
Worked collaborativelly with others

<Exam skills board>
In psychology, me and my classmates wrote some skills to pass the IGCSE which we passed last year. I wrote "DO PAST PAPER! IT WILL HELP YOU A LOT!" and decorated the paper! Since last year, I almost did all the pastpapers that I can get for each subjcts. And obvsiously, they helped my a lot, because there are always some same style questions. We'll get an exam week in a week, so I think I will look at some papers and try under the exam condition!
Hope it would help year 10 and 11 as well.

Learning outcomes are;
  • Considered the ethial implications of actions
  • Undertake new challenges
  • Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
  • Developed new skill

<Mission Statement>
In CAS session, teacher asked us to help the school out by making mission statement. In it, we have to include what the school trying to do, how the teachers educate and teach us and so on. It took half of the lesson, and me and Haruka think of many ideas but this is what we came up finally.
"Bis Moscow focuses on not only education, but also improving students everyday life and future. The school encourages the students to have world wide views so they can meet to increasing the worlds demands of international people. The school provides the best environment for students to be flexible, open minded and international."
Unfortunately, we weren't chosen for the winners, I believe it was nice opportunity to try it once!

Learning outcomes;

  • Developed new skill
  • Undertake new challenges
  • Planned and initiative ativities
  • Considered the ethial implications of actions
  • Engaged with issues of global importance
  • Worked collaborativelly with others

<English tutor>
In two weeks, I did tutor twice. My student is now able to read short sentences a bit faster than the speed she was used to. It's nice that her English improved, I feel good about that because I think that what I've done, making efforts of teaching, thinking of good explanation and etc were all significant.
I will have it tomorrow as well, and I hope it's still enjoyable lesson because the questions are getting harder and harder.

<Ice cream lover>

On Friday, my sister's friend came to my place and did sleepover. She is really close to my family, and I thought I can do something special to welcome her.

I was told not to use eggs by my mom, so I tried to make maccha icecream for my little sisters.
maccha is a Japanese traditional tea that made from powder. It's really bitter if you drink it in traditional style which is only mix of hot water and the powder, so we normally make really sweet sweets to support taste. (we DON'T put any sugar in. It's Russian style.) However, it is only common for traditional area such as Kyoto or Nara, and not for casual home. I sometimes put the powder into the cookies and cakes, so that it tasts awesome, not too bitter but maccha taste. It especially works good when I make sweet sweet sweets. Anyways, I made maccha icecream and they liked it. It was already empty within 12hours! I liked it too so I think I will make it someday again!
Hope you can see their face, they are too shy or maybe too foolish to be seen in picture! haha

Learning outcomes are;

  • Developed new skill
  • Undertake new challenges
  • Planned and initiative ativities

  • <Hockey>
    There were two hockey practices in the period and also one match with France team!
    I goaled twice and we won 9-2 or something. I was glad that I could do that because I've only done once since I started. I hope it will make 3months of my hockey life better.
    Yesterday, it was kind of hockey day. I went to practice and then to a professional game! It was my first time of watching it. We are invited to the VIP room since one of my mates is working in the company that is sponsor of  the team " atlanta". It was really nice opportunity and I was so glad that I could go there. Since my courch asked me to do centre position, I was kind of confused how I should be moving. However, I think that I can possibly get something new that how I can do that. Can't wait to next practice!

    I think I've witten everything that I have now. Thanks for reading such a long long post!

    18/11/2012

    In this week, I had so much to do. I've just done with my English written task at the very latest of Sunday evening. My weekend, especially today was also busy. Hockey practice in the morning for 1.5hours and cooking in the afternoon. Last time I asked coach to polich my skating shoes so that I could skate with best condition shoes today! However I dont think I could do well as much as I can skate, and I missed shoot again and I knew that I could possibly goal. Anyways, I had a lovely time making a sweet which called chou à la crème in French, and rarely seen in Russia. It is hard to make it since the gredient doesn't contain anything to swell, only water butter eggs and flower. I could manage to success and it was quite good I think? I gave some of them to my friends and their families, and they told me later on, THAT WAS DELICIOUS! I was really happy about it! Today I used pretty easy recepi to make a second part, making custard cream though, I want to try harder one next time! Think about my weekend again, and I feel like this was a good one actually!

    Pretty girl Pretty hairstyle

    What do you look at when you meet people as a first time? Face? Proportion? Or maybe some other specific parts. Girls care about hair style pretty well compare to boys, this is because they think that people are judged by looking. Well, I cannot say it is all wrong, in a way, it is correct. I think that hair style is one of the point we are judged. For example a girl who has so cute face but her hair is awful, then boys would get deppressed when he touches her hair. Today, as a way of how girls can be more pretty, I want to show some pictures that I did hairstyle for my two lovely pretty friend :)

    TUTOR ENGLISH!

    It was the day of tutor service, I visited my student's home at 17:30 and finish at 18:30.
    Today, we looked at some exam questions as usual, and we've done 4 of them! Normally, we only do 2 of them per one lesson, so compare to that, we worked hard!
    Here is a picture what I taught to her. What we learnt today is, differences between on, at, in, under and over, and some other vocabraly. She seems to be studying hard and my sister who is in same class as she is in, told me that she likes my lesson and looking forward to have it everyweek and that is awesome. I will continue to teach in a way that she can enjoy, and easy to understand!

    Tutor!

    Finally I took a photo of the girl I'm teaching English!
    She has started learning English one and a half year ago but she did never studied the base of English grammar like why the verb should have s if the subject is he/she/it.
    So I started teaching with very beginning. I sometimes teach English to my sister too, and she is just same age as my sister, so I kind of get used to doing it.
    I am trying to entertains her as it who'll be better if she like my lesson and then English! I uses some stationaries to show what the word means. She seems like having nice and intelligent time with me :)
    Even though the things I teach is so easy stuff, it's nice to have a opportunity where I can teach.

    Learning outcomes are;
  • Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
  • Developed new skill
  • Undertake new challenges
  • Planned and initiative ativities
  • Considered the ethial implications of actions

    A GOOD CAS OPPORTUNITY

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAKYUNG!!!
    On Monday, it was my precious friend's birthday and I baked a cake for her :)
    I used the recipi that was based on very traditonal chocolate cake, but it is arranged to a modern and not-too-sweet ver. I was so happy that she enjoyed and seemed like she was so glad, and everyone including the birthday  girl (there were 8people in her house including me) ate a lot, so I feel like that was a great opportunity to make a difficult cake. I baked the cake last night of her birthday and it took me about 2-3 hours to do. Compare to the normal one, I usually finish about 1hour and a half including the time in an oven. Also I used gradients twice as much as 18cm cake as a first time, so I think that was quite challenging.

    Learning outcomes are:
  • Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
  • Developed new skill
  • Undertake new challenges
  • Planned and initiative ativities

    A short trip to St.Petersbrug!

    In this weekend, there was one more day that I can have some rests, government holiday! It is called День народного единства and unity day in English.
    In first 2 days, I went to St.Petersbrug which is the 2nd biggest city in Russia, and is located North from Moscow. That was my first time to visit and since I went there with my family and my friends' family, the trip was pretty awesome.
    I tried taking some pictures and edited them!

    They are famous in FB, and I thought I can do it with my friend as a first time but we did not want to make exactly same shape as others do,  which is heart. So, we made a star and smily face and I think it looks pretty good, though it took us 2hours or more :P

    Learning outcomes for this are;
    • Worked collaborativelly with others
    • Undertake new challenges

    CAS board, be more creative!

    This week, in a group of international day which means with Haruka and Shun, we made a CAS board a bit more creative!
    This is the board, we have chosen and as youcan see many advertisement of music band in the picture, this was used to use CAS music board. However it seems like too simple, so we decided to make it to... International day board!

    It took us about a week to complete, since we were too busy with some exams, preparation of international day, and so on. Well... and this is what we have done!

    First we changed the colour of the wall because purple does not make the school life more enjoyable, and none of us liked the fact that the basic colour is purple. So, we put them off from the wall and sticked new colour which is orange,then use purple and some others.

    Then we put letters, the reason why only A is written in pen on the pink paper, is that gives more stylistic images to the students. And finally, we sticked some pictures randomly but with our senses of art!

    I already saw many people standing in front of our wall and looking them! Normally, it is not place that people stops, because it is located in the corridor between hall and cafeteria. But that is why this makes me happy :)

    Hockey practice!

    Sunday, hockey!
    I had a great time with my hockey mate today, I scored once but in 30minutes only once.
    Next time, I think I can be a bit more aggressive.
    Today, the good player told some of us how to skate, from the very very beginning. That was kind of easy but the keeping balance was really hard.
    When I play, I feel like I straighten my leg too much, so I tried to not do that today. As the result, I could run a bit faster!!!
    I really love the moment that I get to be used to a new skill!

    26/10/2012

    New cooking style!

    Over these 3days, I made lunches for my sister, father and me. The reason for that, I am in a holiday week and I thought I could do something new to develop myself.
    It is called obentou in Japan and really common. The merit of having that is good balance. Since at least 3 dishes are needed to put in, it is balanced and is healthier than just eating a big chicken.

    Here are some photos I made except on Tuesday, I was pretty busy just making them!

    Outcomes are;

    • Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
    • Undertake new challenges
    • Planned and initiative ativities
    • Developed new skills
    • Considered the ethial implications of actions

    This week, I also started to teach a japanese girl who is just same years old as my sister.
    She wants to study English, so I will teach her once a week either Thursday or Tuesday.
    Learning outcomes are same as I was used to do to my friend's brother.
    Next time, I will upload some photos we doing it!

    Thank you

    Saturday Sunday

    Day before yesterday,the  school bazaar took place in the Japanese school. It is an annual event and parents help children playing. This year, I supported children as well!

     This is a game booth with 5different games.
    I did the one called `Buta tataki`, it is a game player hits the pig released by `pig master`.
    Pig is released with different speed in 3 chances, and I did reception of that game.
    Many people came to that game, some of them were using all 5 challenges they can do per a card sold 50rub.

    That was my second time doing in the school though, I was really excited because I felt like rank-uped what I did compare to last year. Last year, I decorate small kids' faces, and hair with only assistants who are just like same ages as me, but this year, I did it with adults and worked much longer than previous time. I think it can be connected to self-confident.

    On Sunday, I played hockey in normal team, I had a chance to goal but i missed doing that. I think I could skate more quickly when I had a chance to goal, to avoid enemies to disturb me to shoot. Next week, I will try to be more quick skater and get more sweatie. Also I forgot to take pictures so try to remember taking photos of me playing!

    International day 2012

    This week, especially from Wednesday,
    I had started making cakes on Wednesday afterschool,
    and ended up at 12 o'clock on Thursday!
    They are what I made for 2 days!

    From the right, Japanese style cheese cakes, maccha cakes(green tea cakes), chocolate cakes and Yatsuhashi.

    And Thursday afterschool, our group decorated the room

    The final plan for Friday was,
    1> Presentation made by Shun
    2>Give hand made cakes made by me to top three winners
    3>Play a traditional game`Fukuwarai` equipments made by Haruka
    4>If we have extra time, `Yamanotesen game`

    Fukuwarai is one of very traditional game, it can be said as every Japanese play at least once in s/he of life. We play it at the beginning of a year with family and relatives. It is a game that player pins pieces of face like eyes, ears, nose etc onto a paper which the blank face is written. The player should be blind so that s/he cannot know where to put, people around player can lie. So basically player has exactly no idea where to put them and normally, the face is completed as very very funny.

    Yamanotesen game (can be called as Kokontozai as well)is also one of really popular game. Yamanotesen is a one of the train line in Tokyo, like red line in Moscow. People need to decide the theme first, like `country`, then players say Japan, Russia, America,UK etc rythmically, one per person and all players finished saying, back to the first person and continue until someone fails. Once someone said Japan, no  one can use it again.

    And finally On FRIDAY, International day...
    They really enjoyed our country!!!
    I was really glad that they enjoyed, on the reflection paper we asked students to write,
    all students wrote positive words like interesting, very good, fun, well organized etc, all of 40 papers!

    Here are learing outcomes of the international day
    > by making cakes,
    • Increase awareness of my strengths and areas for growth
    • Undertake new challenges
    • Planned and initiative ativities
    • Developed new skills
    >Overall for international day, above PLUS,
    • Worked collaborativelly with others
    • shown perseverance and commitment in activities
    • Considered the ethial implications of actions
    • Engaged with issues of global importance
    Covered all of them!

    For international day

    We are keeping preparing for our first own organized international day coming this Friday.

    Today, we decided to give a color card to students who got the right answer, so that we can make sure who got that points, and who is the winner.
    Here are some pictures we are cutting papers!

    For the top 3 students who get highest mark in the quiz presentation, can get prizes!
    The prizes are going to be whether Japanese snacks which Haruka will buy day after tomorrow( me and Shun are going to pay her later) or some traditional foods or cakes which are born in Japan. These are going to be the one called Kasutera, Gatto chocola ( it is one of chocolate cakes), and soft soft cheese cake.
    After the presentation(this presentation is made by Shun by the way), we will ask students to help making one of easy easy Japanese food which called Yatsuhashi. There are some steps to make it but I will do some at home and will give them easy only stuffs.
    Here is the URL of pictures of them!
    (Click the URL above. It will automatically connect to Google images)

    I am so excited to do it!

    Activity for this week!

    It was Sunday! So....
    HOCKEY!
    This picture was taken by my friend last week!

    Today, I was in a different group from the one I am usually in,
    and I think I could play a bit better than normal! I guess taking a little step every time is really important.

    Today, I practiced with Japanese coach for an hour and a half, tried some new formation. It is a basic one, but because 80 percent of club member was beginner including me, we need to do it. This is about when we are offense, first pass to defense, pass between defense, then wing  (left and/or right of offense) then center and again wing then shoot. I found some difficulties since our team members were completely new to me, but I think I could improve it if I have next chance.
    I am going back to my natural team next week though, I should use this new skill and make an effort for win!

    I also joined school basket ball club this week! Although there is no evidence since I was too busy to play... next week, I will try to take some photos!

    This is all about this week!
    Have a nice day :)!

    A good opportunity

    Yesterday, I went to my friend, Haruka's house and from there, me, Haruka and another friend, Nakyung visited to a Russian hospital.
    This is a picture of the entrance. It is a hospital for children where Haruka's mother was used to work.
    Basically, our work was collecting fallen leaves. There were other 2 people, Russian guy and Indian man, they were pretty kind to us, especially Indian man, he took some pictures of us!

    AND,,, here they are!

     Even though that was pretty hard work since the weather was a bit cold to do it outside, I was really glad that I could join that project. This is because it was first time to do these kind of activity in Russia. Since my communication in Russian is limited, I feel like relationship is really important for me. I really thank you to Haruka giving me the opportunity.

     The right picture was before we do and the left is after we have done from another angle. As you can see here, we did it hard!
    I wish children who is hospitalizing in the hospital would be happy looking clean small forests :)

    Learning outcomes are:
    • Increase awareness of your strengths and areas for growth
    • Undertake new challenges
    • Planned and initiated activities
    • Worked collaboratively with others
    • Shown perseverance and commitment in their activities
    • Considered the ethical implications of their actions
